Individual therapy is a joint process between the therapist and the client to focus on the positive change in the client's life. As systemic therapists, the client and therapist take a collaborative approach in understanding different barriers that the client may be navigating and experiencing in life.

There are times in relationships where couples start to feel as if they are simply business partners, or maybe work and/or parenting has caused the marriage/relationship to be placed on the back burner, or maybe there has been an affair. Couples therapy focuses on helping the couple-unit refocus on the relationship and overcome relational hardships that have been experienced.

03.

Premarital therapy is a specialized type of therapy that helps couples prepare for marriage. By participating in premarital counseling prior to their wedding, couples can begin to build a healthy, strong relationship that helps provide a healthier foundation for their union. Additionally, counseling can prevent small issues from escalating into serious concerns at some point in the future. Premarital therapy also helps couples identify their expectations for the marriage and address any significant differences they might have.

Many say that "Trauma is in the eye of the beholder." Grief and Trauma is experienced differently in all individuals. This can be experienced due to a single event, such as a death or car accident, or a continuation of events such as abuse or discrimination. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidenced-based approach at navigating through grief and trauma in a manageable way.

05.

Family is more than just "blood relatives". It can also include those key relationships that are so important, yet sometimes so difficult and draining to navigate. Family therapy is aimed at addressing the roadblocks in significant relationships in order to move towards a healthier way of relating.

A common saying at Heart of Abundance is "pills don't give us skills." Even if you have met with your PCP and/or medication provider, it is very beneficial to "add the necessary skills" to navigate feelings of anxiety, depression, ADHD and other minimal to moderate stressors.
