01.

Individual therapy is a joint process between the therapist and the client to focus on the positive change in the client's life. As systemic therapists, the client and therapist take a collaborative approach in understanding different barriers that the client may be navigating and experiencing in life.

There are times in relationships where couples start to feel as if they are simply business partners, or maybe work and/or parenting has caused the marriage/relationship to be placed on the back burner, or maybe there has been an affair.

At Heart of Abundance, our therapeutic approach involves seeing each client individually to gain a comprehensive understanding of their unique perspectives and needs. By working with each person separately, we can address individual concerns more effectively. This method allows us to tailor our therapeutic interventions more precisely to each client's requirements.

After establishing a solid understanding of both partners individually, we can then facilitate joint sessions with both providers. These sessions are designed to bring both partners together, allowing us to address relational dynamics and work towards mutual goals. Throughout this process, our therapists collaborate closely to ensure a cohesive and coordinated approach.

Many say that "Trauma is in the eye of the beholder." Grief and Trauma is experienced differently in all individuals. This can be experienced due to a single event, such as a death or car accident, or a continuation of events such as abuse or discrimination. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidenced-based approach at navigating through grief and trauma in a manageable way.

06.

A common saying at Heart of Abundance is "pills don't give us skills." Even if you have met with your PCP and/or medication provider, it is very beneficial to "add the necessary skills" to navigate feelings of anxiety, depression, ADHD and other minimal to moderate stressors.
